| Wire bound notebook (with pocket would be nice) for class notes and chapter reviews | |
| Folder to collect all papers (SAVE EVERYTHING!) |
Objectives:
This class will help you...

| give opportunities for personal evaluation of physical fitness. | |
| become informed consumers. | |
| plan a personal fitness program. |
Apparel:
All clothing worn to activity classes (announced in advance) shall be...
| indoor gym clothes and shoes. | |
| appropriate for coed class, lacking the potential for embarrassing situations. | |
| clean, lacking offensive odor. |
Failure to wear appropriate clothing will lead to you being asked to return to change as well as receiving a tardy for the class.
Grading:
The grading of this course will be a letter grade which is applied to your GPA. The
grade is figured as follows:
Chapter Wrap-ups 10%
Chapter Projects 20%Tests 40%
Development of Personal Fitness Program 20%
Semester Final Exam 10%
| All work is to be submitted on time, normally at the start of the next PE class. | |
| Work not handed in on time will receive a 0% | |
| If you miss a class, it is your responsibility to see me for the assignment that you missed. | |
| Work missed due to an excused absence must be submitted by the next PE 12 class. Failure to do so will result in a mark of 0% for that assignment. | |
| Unexcused absences will result in a mark of 0% for any work due or activity done that day. Also, a penalty of a reduction of 5% from the quarter grade will be assessed for each unexcused absence. | |
| Please be on time for class. If you are tardy (not in your seat ready
to learn at the bell) that tardy must be reported to the principal. You
will need to explain to him the reason for your lateness. It would also be
polite to explain your reason to the instructor. |
Letter grades for the semester will be based upon the following percents:
| A | 93-100% | C | 74-76% |
| A- | 90-92% | C- | 70-73% |
| B+ | 87-89% | D+ | 67-69% |
| B | 84-86% | D | 64-66% |
| B- | 80-83% | D- | 60-63% |
| C+ | 77-79% | F | 0-59% |
