Procedure
Grading
The letter grade you earn for your report card is based upon the percentages earned in several areas of work.
The areas of work will be weighted in the following way (this weighting may
change as the year progresses):
|
class work/quizzes 5% | |
|
selected daily work 15%
|
Geometer's Sketchpad work 15%
|
projects 10% | |
|
chapter tests 40% | |
|
semester exam 15% |
Your letter grades will be determined according to the following percentages:
| 93-100% A | 80-83% B- | 67-69% D+ |
| 90-92% A- | 77-79% C+ | 64-66% D |
| 87-89% B+ | 74-76% C | 60-63% D- |
| 84-86% B | 70-73% C- | 0-59% F |
| All work assigned is expected to be completed by the due date. Failure to do so will normally result in a mark of 0%. | |
| Any work not completed because of an excused absence must be submitted at the next class you are present following the absence. Failure to do so will ordinarily result in a mark of 0%. It is your responsibility to get missed assignments. | |
| An excessive number of absences from class will jeopardize your chances of gaining credit in this class. After five absences, you should meet with the instructor to determine your standing in the class. | |
| Please be in your seat and ready to learn when the bell rings. Failure to be seated and ready when the bell rings will be considered a tardy and must be reported to the principal. Courtesy suggests that you explain the reason for your lateness to the instructor after class. | |
| If you need additional help beside class time, please ask. I am very willing to meet with you during your free study halls, after school, or any other time you are free. You must let me know that you are interested in additional help. |
