Chapter 2 As the "Elements of Art" are discussed and observed through artists' works, the students complete  study guides, prepare one class lesson, and develop one class lesson centered on a slide show presentation. In each class presentation, the students are to show evidence of their understanding of color, line, shape, form, texture, space, or value in art and show how these elements can be introduced to children in their artwork. The Internet is used to locate examples of the elements of art found in the artwork of professional artists. The students also begin a review of an art textbook series. (10 periods)

Chapter 3 The seven elements of art discussed in chapter 2 are used in different ways by different artists. There are some basic guidelines of art followed by artists to create a desired impression in an artwork. These guidelines are known as the "Principles of Art". In this chapter, the students will prepare a visually rich bulletin board display which they will use to present a lesson demonstrating their understanding of those principles of art, namely, balance; emphasis; proportion; movement; rhythm; repetition and pattern; and variety and unity.
