AIMS & OBJECTIVES

This one credit, one semester course meets weekly and is designed to give the student experience with the administrative duties of a Christian Day School principal. During the course, the student will learn of the many duties and responsibilities of a CDS principal. The student will actively participate in many of the activities of a CDS principal as listed below through the development and management of their own fictitious CDS. Other topics will be covered in class discussion and through additional readings. The computer will be used extensively in this course.

GRADING

The course grade will be determined using the following weighted method:

bullet50% Development of a "Principal's Handbook" including samples of work done with the fictitious school
bullet10% Interviews of present or former CLC principals
bullet15% Additional readings
bullet20% Class preparation and participation
bulletThe remaining 5% will be determined by the student's ability to demonstrate organizational skills, thoroughness, and neatness.
