Concert Band--a co-curricular
activity--introduces a wide
range of music to participating students.
Meeting once or twice a week, compositions from
Bach and Handel to more recent Gershwin songs
and Broadway show-tunes provide both challenge
and reward. Several selections from these
are often performed at the Christmas and Spring
concerts.

Jazz Band began at Immanuel the fall of 2002.
We predominantly play the music of Duke
Ellington, but we've performed tunes by Fats
Waller, Benny Goodman, Count Basie, and even
George Gershwin. The music is very
challenging and rewarding when it comes
together.

Band plays for home volleyball and basketball
games. Our current repertoire of about 25 songs
keeps us hopping. The band plays about 40 times
during the school year, which allows the
musicians to get very comfortable with their
instruments and improve their technique.

2008 Concert Schedule
|
Each year anticipation is high as the student
body tries out for the thirty-two spots on the
Tour Choir. Year round, this group prepares to
carry the Word of God in music to CLC
congregations around the country. In the spring,
the Tour Choir travels one of three different
routes to various parts of the country
conducting sacred concerts of praise to the
Lord. These ambassadors of Christ also conduct
several concerts at area congregations.

Prof. John Reim
