The mid-winter blahs
are off-set by Mini-Class Week, a chance for the
students to learn things not normally taught in
the classroom. Volunteers from around the CLC
come to Immanuel to demonstrate their hobbies or
interests and give students a chance to try
their hand and activities as diverse as CAD and
Java Programming to auto mechanics,
wood-burning, soldering, crocheting, skin care
and pie-making.

Several years ago, a
group of Immanuel Students with some help of
some faculty members and their wives began a Christian Music
Festival at which anyone was welcome to present
his choice of spiritually edifying music. Now
the festival, held in late April or early May,
provides a very uplifting afternoon of
both traditional and contemporary Christian
music. |

Bragging rights are at stake each year on the
Monday of Final Test week as the classes compete
for supremacy in traditional track and field events as well
as some not-so-normal activities including hacky-sack, endurance course, egg toss and the Tea
House Lawn games. Ultimate victory is often
decided by the final event, tug-of-war, the
winner of which calls itself the unofficial
champion of the day, all points aside.

The afternoon of
the last day of the year finds everyone
gathering in the gym for some entertainment and
the presentation of awards and scholarships. Our
Lord has truly blessed our campus with talented
students and we draw attention to those gifts on
this day.

Graduation marks the
end of the school year as our students prepare
venture out into the work force, into further
education or begin a call in the public
ministry. It's a bittersweet day as we recognize
and appreciate the blessings our Lord has
showered upon us throughout the year and how we
will miss the closeness that has developed
through the year. |
